Events

Events at Key help us form the strong bonds that make our community so unique! Here are just a few of the events sponsored in whole or in part by the PTA. For more information about these or any events at Key, contact internal-affairs@keypta.org.

Fall Fiesta – Held in October, this is the first major event of the school year.  Fall Fiesta is a great opportunity to meet new families or socialize with the ones you already know.  This is an event for the whole family. In addition to activities for the kids, such as inflatables, face painting, sports, and games, there is a potluck meal where families can enjoy a variety of foods reflecting one of Key’s most important assets, diversity.

Auction - This is Key’s biggest fundraising event.  The auction raises approximately 75% of the PTA’s annual budget, which is used to fund a variety of activities such as Enrichment, Teacher Grants, Fall Fiesta, and Field Day.  The Auction is a parent-only event, therefore it is a great opportunity to support Key School while socializing with other parents. Auction items include: donations from local merchants, donations from parents (e.g. tickets to social or sporting events), and donations from Key School teachers and staff (e.g. chances to be Principal or P.E. teacher for a day and special outings with teachers).  The teacher experiences are the students’ favorite items! The 2019 auction will be held on April 6. For all details, see the announcements page!

Spring Arts Festival – This event is a great way for Key students to showcase their talents in front of a warm and supportive audience.  Students perform a variety of solo and group acts such as singing, dancing, acting, and comedy. This two-night event is MC’d by 5th grade students, who keep everyone entertained during performance breaks.  The event also includes a display gallery for visual arts submissions.

Field Day - Field Day is the most anticipated day of the year for Key students!  It is traditionally held on the Friday before the last day of school.  There are activities such as a dunk tank, inflatables, obstacle courses, and face painting.  The outdoor fun is topped off with a refreshing snow-cone on what is sure to be a hot day. In addition to the outdoor activities and dancing in the gym, the students also watch a movie as part of the PTA Character Ed Program.
