🐝 Events & Traditions at Escuela Key

Throughout the year, Escuela Key families come together for school traditions, cultural celebrations, community events, and more. Some are organized by the PTA, some by the school, and many are made possible with the help of family volunteers.

🍂 Fall What to Expect
☕ Welcome Cafecito Connect with other Key families after morning drop-off on the first day of school.
🎉 Hispanic Heritage Fiesta A community celebration of Hispanic heritage that brings Key families together to connect and have fun.
📚 Book Fair Students explore books and create wish lists during the school day, with opportunities for families to shop together.
🧗 Rocktober Fest A favorite Key tradition with outdoor games and activities led by PE staff with support from family volunteers.
❄️ Winter What to Expect
🔬 STEM Night An evening of hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math activities for the whole family.
🎲 Bingo Night A fun and casual evening of bingo for Key students and families.
🔢 100th Day of School A classroom celebration marking the 100th day of school with special activities organized by teachers.
✨ Auction Gala The PTA’s largest annual fundraiser and an adults-only evening bringing the Key community together while raising funds for our school.
🌸 Spring What to Expect
🌎 Noche Internacional One of Key’s most beloved traditions! Families celebrate the cultures represented in our community through food, cultural tables, and performances.
📖 Día del Idioma A celebration of Spanish language and literature featuring student performances, poems, readings, and other activities.
💙 Teacher Appreciation Week A week of activities and special touches celebrating Escuela Key teachers and staff.
🏃 Field Day A favorite end-of-year tradition filled with outdoor games, activities, and team fun for Key students.
🎓 5th Grade Promotion A celebration of Key’s graduating fifth graders, with families from younger grades helping so fifth-grade families can enjoy the day with their children.
🐝 Throughout the Year What to Expect
🎽 Spirit Days Held the first Wednesday of every month. Students can show their Key spirit by wearing a Key T-shirt or anything yellow and blue.
☕ PTA Socials & Cafecitos Informal opportunities for Key families to meet, connect, and build community throughout the school year.
🎬 PTA Movie Nights Family movie nights held at different times during the school year—bring the kids and enjoy a movie with other Key families.
