Volunteer Registration
APS has established an online process for vetting volunteers. If you intend to volunteer at school (such as helping with a class party, chaperoning a field trip, setting up for a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, etc), you must complete this process. It’s very quick and easy to complete the online form.
If you have any questions, please see the APS website (https://www.apsva.us/volunteers-partnerships/volunteer-application-form/application-process/). You can also contact the Volunteer Coordinator at APS Central office, Alicia Zekan (email alicia.zekan@apsva.us), with questions.
Once you have filled out the application at the website above, please send an email to Alicia Zekan (alicia.zekan@apsva.us) so that she can send you a link to the SafeSchools training offered via RaptorTech. Complete the training and before you close the window, DOWNLOAD a copy of the certificate to your computer or take a screenshot of it.
Send Alicia Zekan (alicia.zekan@apsva.us) a copy of your certificate (or the screenshot) so that they can make the final approval of your volunteer application.
Volunteers must retake safe schools training every two years to renew their approval.

APS tiene un proceso en línea para la aprobación de los voluntarios. Si usted tiene intención de ser voluntario en la escuela (ayudar en clase, hacer de chaperón, etc) necesita completar este proceso on line. Es rápido, fácil y sobre todo ayuda a tener una escuela más segura.
Si tiene alguna pregunta, consulte el sitio web de APS (https://www.apsva.us/es/volunteers-partnerships/volunteer-application-form/application-process/). También puede comunicarse con la coordinadora de voluntarios de la oficina central de APS, Alicia Zekan (email alicia.zekan@apsva.us).
Una vez que completes la aplicación a través del enlace de arriiba, por favor envíe un correo electrónico a Alicia Zekan (alicia.zekan@apsva.us), para que se puede enviarle un enlace a la capacitación en línea SafeSchools. Complete la formación y ANTES DE SALIR de esa ventana, descarga/baja el certificado a su computadora o tome un pantallazo del certificado.
Envíe una copia de su certificado o el pantallazo a Alicia Zekan (alicia.zekan@apsva.us) para que ella puedan aprobar su solicitud de voluntario. Usted debería recibir un correo electrónico confirmando su estatus como un voluntario aprobado.
** Tenga en cuenta:
Los voluntarios deben retomar la capacitación de escuelas seguras cada dos años para mantener su estatús aprobado.

Visitor: A person who visits school on occasion.
Examples: 100th Day of School activities, Day of the Spanish Language (Día del Idioma), music concerts, etc.)
NO does not need to complete the volunteer registration
Chaperone: Parent, guardian or family member who chaperones a field trip but will NOT volunteer with students in any other capacity.
YES needs to to complete the volunteer registration
Volunteer: A person who donates his/her time on an ongoing basis.
Examples: Friday Folders, helps in classroom, etc.

Visitante: Persona que visita la escuela ocasionalmente.
Ejemplos: Centésimo Día de Clases, Día del Idioma, connciertos de música, etc.)
NO, no necesita completar el registro de voluntarios
Acompañante: Padre, tutor o miembro de la familia que sirve como un chaperón en una excursión pero NO será voluntario con los alumnos en ninguna otra capacidad.
SÍ, necesita completar el registro de voluntarios
Voluntario: Una persona que dona su tiempo de forma continua.
Ejemplos: Rellenar las carpetas de los viernes, ayuda en las aulas, etc.)
